Been meaning to ask this. Crime rate is something to consider -Leesburg sits at 731.1 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,169 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned?

Moved here from Boston about 6 years ago. it's been a really good experience overall. Still getting used to job market but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to LA it's excellent.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in East for 9 years. Moved from Baltimore for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Dating scene is rough. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 10 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
