Best areas to explore in Leesburg?

Curious what people think. Crime rate is something to consider -Leesburg sits at 183.9 per 100K. Rent is about $1,980/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Any advice would be great. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely hit or miss and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Old Town) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a social worker and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
