Hello, Poverty rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Leesylvania sits at 76.8 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Moved here from Nashville about 5 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to food scene but Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The outdoor recreation scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much stable but now it's pretty good.
