Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 31-year-old sales rep and Rent is about $1,496/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Would love some local perspective. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is challenging in most areas.
