Been meaning to ask this. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cheers. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The housing market is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Chicago about 11 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Asian places. I genuinely enjoy living here.
