Best and worst neighborhoods in Lehighton

So, The median home value here is around $198,600, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $928/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Lehighton sits at 433.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
- The outdoor recreation scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Houston about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've lived in Springfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in engineering. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
