Is Lemon Grove still affordable?
Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 50s, and Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $640,600 on average. The unemployment rate is 4.7%, which is about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Lemon Grove sits at 614.5 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 27,489 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
Pros:
- Diverse community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Limited dining options
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
