Is Lemon Hill getting better or worse?

Hi all, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $1,376 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Lemon Hill sits at 614.8 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is about average. With a population of 14,942, Lemon Hill is a small town. Rent is about $1,376/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Lack of diversity
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
What are your go-to spots? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Came here for school and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The nightlife is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
