Best hidden gems in Lemont
Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $447,800 on average.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Seattle about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
