Grocery stores in Lemont -recommendations?

Curious what people think. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 8 years. Moved from Seattle for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is improving - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Can feel isolated. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 6/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much growing but now it's average.

I've been in The Heights for 12 years. Moved from San Francisco for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Road conditions need improvement. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'm a social worker and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is average and there's always something going on.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
- The pet-friendliness scene is average

The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in West area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The traffic is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
