Is Lemont getting better or worse?

So, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $126,100 in Lemont. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great Indian places. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 14 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The traffic scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..
