Moving from Boston to Lemoore next month

Curious what people think. I grew up here but left for a while. Poverty rate is 11.6%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Lemoore sits at 471.4 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What are your go-to spots? TIA! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Dallas about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from San Diego about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 30, moved here 11 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Pine Hills and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Strong sense of community
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Can feel isolated
3. The public transit situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for couples. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $40K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 44, moved here 15 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in South and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The dating scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for singles. average vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much competitive but now it's pretty good.
