Is Lenoir City still affordable?

First post here. Poverty rate is 18.4%, which is higher than I expected. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much pricey but now it's solid.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The weather is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I work in government here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is underrated. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
