I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Austin about 9 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is average.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
