Things that make Lenox unique

Hey folks, With a population of 1,809, Lenox is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for retirement and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The traffic is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Sunset for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 10 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Greenfield area are improving. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 2 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
