Why I chose Leroy over bigger cities

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Has anyone dealt with this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Boston about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..
