Random thought, It's a a smaller city city with about 50,930 people. Median household income is $101,619, which feels pretty solid for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks for reading. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely tough and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
