As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much developing but now it's underrated.

I've lived in Downtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is average
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Came here for weather and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The cost of living is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
