Crime rate is something to consider -Lewisburg sits at 82.8 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Raleigh about 14 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
