Top 5 things I love about Lewiston

Been meaning to ask this. The median home value here is around $290,900, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $71,047 in Lewiston. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Great weather
- Low crime in most areas
- Lots of new development
- Active local events

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
- Homelessness issues downtown
- Not enough green space
Would love some local perspective. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I've lived in Eastside for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The weather scene is solid

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Definitely worth checking out..
