Hey folks, You can expect to pay around $954 for rent here. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $56,558 in Lewiston. Crime rate is something to consider -Lewiston sits at 298.3 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Miami it's hit or miss.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The cost of living is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in East for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..
