Is it worth buying in Lewisville?

First post here. I'm single, late 50s, and Rent is about $1,059/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 13,655, Lewisville is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely underrated and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (North) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
