Been meaning to ask this. Military spouse here. With a population of 128K, Lewisville is a mid-size city. Median household income is $85,002, which feels pretty solid for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Should I be concerned?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like sushi.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much wild but now it's improving.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 14 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
