What surprised you most about Lexington-Fayette urban county?
First post here. I'm originally from Denver and Median household income is $67,631, which feels about average for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Would love some local perspective. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Denver about 3 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..
