Rent vs buy in Lexington -what makes sense?

Hey everyone, Just moved here 6 months ago and Median household income is $219,402, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $1,147,900 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Is this normal for Lexington?

I work in government here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is pretty good. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
