Commute times in Lexington -how bad?

Alright, We have two kids and People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 15 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
