How are the schools in Lexington?

My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $921/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 3 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into running, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Minneapolis about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely tough and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Springfield) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
