So, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $105,599, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $105,599 in Liberty Lake. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much wild but now it's pretty good.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 6 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I work in retail here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been here 4 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into running, this place is hit or miss.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 38, moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Maple Ridge and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Can feel isolated
3. The dating scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Maple Ridge: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$100K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely challenging and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Springfield) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
