Housing market in Liberty Lake right now

Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $105,599 in Liberty Lake. With a population of 12,435, Liberty Lake is a small town. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2022 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Uptown area are decent. Kids love it here.

Moved here from Boston about 6 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to school system but No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 51, moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Eastside and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The healthcare situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
