Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $162,800, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $725/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Is this normal for Liberty? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Close to major attractions
- The cost of living scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
