Starting a business in Libertyville?

OK so I've been here for 8 years and It's a a small town city with about 20,493 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Is this normal for Libertyville? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in retail here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is pretty good. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is tough.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Denver about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Bought a house here in 2016 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
