I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 10,463 people. Household incomes average around $92,268 in Lighthouse Point. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Thanks for reading. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. I've lived in Sunset for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cultural scene scene is solid
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cultural scene is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in engineering here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is hit or miss. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
