Is it worth buying in Lilbourn?

Hey folks, Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $65,600, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 1,021, Lilbourn is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Came here for school and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The walkability is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely challenging and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Sunset) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..
