Thinking about relocating to Lilburn from San Diego
Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $57,266 in Lilburn. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Lilburn? The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much affordable but now it's improving.

I've lived in Uptown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- The weather scene is average
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in North for 6 years. Moved from Dallas for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is tough - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Road conditions need improvement. And job market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Used to live on the North side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
