Is it worth buying in Lillington?

Random thought, Household incomes average around $63,393 in Lillington. Rent is about $934/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $219,600, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I work in government here and it was the best decision I ever made. The job market for my field is pretty good. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 9 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The safety is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Houston about 8 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
