As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much competitive but now it's better than expected.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from New York about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 15 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into running, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is excellent in most areas.
