OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. You can expect to pay around $865 for rent here. Household incomes average around $43,370 in Lima. Crime rate is something to consider -Lima sits at 706.6 per 100K. Median household income is $43,370, which feels on the lower side for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Miami about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much manageable but now it's average.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
