Moved here from Tampa about 11 years ago. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Still getting used to nightlife but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Dallas about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is tough in most areas.
