Anyone work in healthcare in Lincoln?

Random thought, We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $248,200 on average. Rent is about $1,045/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in The Heights for 2 years. Moved from Seattle for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Dating scene is rough. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The nightlife scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.
