Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Has anyone dealt with this? Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 9 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
