Housing market in Lincoln Park right now

Hey everyone, It's a a smaller city city with about 39,511 people. You can expect to pay around $972 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Lincoln Park sits at 616.5 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 31, moved here 5 years ago from Austin. I've lived in North and Pine Hills, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The community vibe situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- Pine Hills: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The safety is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is underrated in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in legal. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
