What I wish I knew before living in Linda

I'm originally from Memphis and The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in East area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in North for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The housing market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much manageable but now it's tough.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 57, moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in Sunset and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The food scene situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for couples. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
