Housing market in Lindale right now

Curious what people think. I'm a 22-year-old lawyer and Crime rate is something to consider -Lindale sits at 403.7 per 100K. Median household income is $81,603, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely challenging and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Old Town) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
