Cheapest neighborhoods in Linden?

Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. With a population of 43,614, Linden is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Nashville it's pretty good.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Westside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is tough and there's always something going on.
