Honest thoughts on life in Linden

Anyone else feel this way? Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 7.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 43,614, Linden is a smaller city. Median household income is $91,036, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,677 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Linden? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely improving and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Springfield) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
