Biggest downsides of living in Lindenhurst?

Hey folks, Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I've lived in Downtown for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- The job market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much established but now it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Denver about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
