I'm originally from Chicago and Household incomes average around $121,800 in Lino Lakes. Homes are going for about $385,000 on average. It's a a small town city with about 21,847 people. With a population of 21,847, Lino Lakes is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The walkability is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a contractor, 48, moved here 14 years ago from Miami. I've lived in West and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The pet-friendliness situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for retirees. average vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in education. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Charlotte about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Eastside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- The public transit scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
