Curious what people think. Crime rate is something to consider -Linton Hall sits at 49.9 per 100K. Homes are going for about $594,200 on average. Poverty rate is 0.8%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $170,989 in Linton Hall. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much growing but now it's decent.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2015 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a electrician, 47, moved here 4 years ago from LA. I've lived in East and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Can feel isolated
3. The public transit situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for retirees. decent vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $40K-$100K here.
**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Charlotte about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Riverside area are average. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Tampa it's better than expected.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Tampa about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
