My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Austin about 9 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is average.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
