I'm originally from Kansas City and Rent is about $1,814/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $424,200 on average. Poverty rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 7,091 people. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I overthinking this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
